Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
  2. Provide instruction and guidance to meet student learning objectives.
  3. Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  4. Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  5. Student and peer evaluations and self-assessment of teaching effectiveness are required.
  6. Commitment to community college principles and philosophy is essential.
  7. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  8. Possible evening, weekend, and off-campus assignments, including military bases; also distance learning assignments for courses taught via the Internet. For some teaching fields, openings may only be available for classes offered on military bases or taught via the Internet. To teach on a military base, Department of Defense security clearance will be required.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Unless a related field is listed, the degree must be in the subject area. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
  2. AERONAUTICS MAINTENANCE (AERO) (Job Number 2018-00485): (a) Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years per Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations of related work experience, plus current FAA Airframe & Power Plant License, DME Certifiable; or (b) Associate Degree plus 5 years per FAA regulations work experience, plus current FAA Airframe & Power Plant License, DME Certifiable; or (c) 15 college credits plus 7 years, (including training) related work experience, plus current FAA Airframe & Power Plant License, DME Certifiable.
  3. ARCHITECTURAL, ENGINEERING & CAD TECHNOLOGIES (AEC) (Job Number 2018-00406): (a) Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology plus 3 years related work experience; or (b) Associate degree plus 5 years related work experience; or (c) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training. Note: CAD required.
  4. AUTO BODY REPAIR & PAINTING (ABRP) (Job Number 2018-00405): (a) Associate degree in ABRP plus 5 years related work experience, and Journey worker status; or (b) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training and Journey worker status.

  6. CARPENTRY (CARP) (Job Number 2018-00451): (a) Associate degree in Carpentry plus 5 years related work experience and Journey worker status; or (b) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training and Journey worker status.
  7. COOPERATIVE EDUCATION (Job Number 2018-00452): (a) Master’s degree in any field or discipline offered at the College; or (b) Bachelor’s degree in any field or discipline offered at the College plus 3 years related work experience; or (c) Associate degree in any field or discipline offered at the College plus 5 years related work experience; or (d) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training.
  8. DIESEL MECHANICS (DISL) (Job Number 2018-00453): (a) Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering or Industrial Education plus 3 years related work experience and ASE certification in areas (Master Tech) to be taught; or (b) Associate Degree plus 5 years related work experience and ASE certification in areas (Master Tech) to be taught; or (c) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training and ASE certification in areas (Master Tech) to be taught.   9. ELECTRICITY/ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY (EIMT) (Job Number 2018-00454): (a) Associate degree in Electricity/Electrical Installation and Maintenance plus 5 years related work experience and current Journey worker license; or (b) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training and current Journey worker license.
  10. FIRE SCIENCE/FIRE & ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE (FIRE) (Job Number 2018-00455): (a) Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science or related Natural Sciences plus 3 years related work experience in Fire Science/Fire and Environmental Emergency Response occupations; or (b) Associate degree in Fire Science or related Natural Sciences plus 5 years related work experience in Fire Science/Fire and Environmental Emergency Response occupations; or (c) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience in Fire Science/Fire and Environmental Emergency Response occupations. Note: Related Natural Sciences: All biological sciences, general sciences and all physical sciences.
  11. OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY MANAGEMENT (OESM) (Job Number 2018-00456): (a) Master’s degree in OESM; or (b) Bachelor’s degree in OESM plus 3 years related work experience; or (c) Associate degree in OESM plus 5 years related work experience; or (d) 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training. Related fields: Environmental Health, Public Health with an emphasis in OSH or Environmental Health.

Desirable Qualifications
  1. Teaching experience at the community college level.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work with community college students.

  5. Familiarity with competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
  7. Experience in use of technology to support instruction and student success, including but not limited to LMS, CRM, Early Alert and presentation software. A willingness to adapt to new technology platforms.
