  • Fall 2018/Spring 2019/Summer 2019, part-time, for lecturer applicant pool. Non-tenurial, pending availability of funds, and actual staffing requirements. May be for Leeward CC day, evening, or weekend offerings on- and off-campus. This includes the Waianae campus and Early College.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
  2. Maintain minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
  3. Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  4. Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  5. May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. As listed below. All minimum qualifications must be from a regionally accredited institution and met by the effective date of appointment. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting the minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
  2. AGRICULTURE (Job Number: 2017-00066): Master’s in Agriculture or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and 3 years of related work experience.
  3. ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY (Job Number: 2017-00067): (a) Master’s in Anatomy and Physiology, OR (b) Master’s in Zoology, or any Health or Biological Science with 9 credits graduate coursework in vertebrate anatomy and/or physiology.
  4. ASTRONOMY(Job Number: 2017-00068): Master’s in Astronomy.
  5. BIOCHEMISTRY (Job Number: 2017-00069): Master’s in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or appropriate biological science.
  6. BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES (Job Number: 2017-00070): Master’s degree in Biological Sciences (Biology, Botany, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences or Zoology)
  7. CHEMISTRY (Job Number: 2017-00071): Master’s in Chemistry.
  8. ENGINEERING (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) (Job Number: 2017-00072): Masters in appropriate field.
  9. GENERAL SCIENCE (Job Number: 2017-00073): (a) Master’s in any biological science for any biological science courses; OR (b) Master’s in any physical science for any physical science courses.

  11. INFORMATION AND COMPUTER SCIENCE (Job Number: 2017-00075): (a) Master’s in Information and Computer Science; OR (b) Bachelor’s in Information and Computer Science and 3 years of related work experience. Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of cybersecurity.
  12.
